Seven people reportedly went missing after a fire broke out on January 15 in a shopping mall in the Indonesian city of Jakarta, police said on January 16.

Jakarta (VNA)🐼 - Seven people reportedly went missing after a fire broke out on January 15 in a shopping mall in the Indonesian city of Jakarta, police said on January 16.

The incident occurred in Glodok Plaza at around 5:20 pm local time in the densely populated area of Tamansari sub-district. Many visitors were reportedly in the mall at the time of the fire.
The city's fire department has deployed over 40 fire engines and 200 firefighters to combat the fire at the shopping mall. As of January 16 afternoon, embers remain in one of the buildings, despite the extinguishing efforts having entered the cooling stage. The city's police spokesperson told local reporters that firefighters and police personnel are still at the location to investigate the main cause of the blaze./.
