Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing underlined that theestablishment of the Global Water Fund is paramount to providing long-termfunding 💝for clean water and sanitation initiatives.

Speaking at the Designing Global Water Fund Establishment workshop in Jakartaon February 5, the ministry's Director General of Public Works Infrastructureand Housing Finance Herry Trisaputra Zuna stated that the establishment of the Global Water Fund to offer lasting financial support for clean water andsanitation initiatives and water-related disaster financing in developingcountries has become critical. He noted that establishment is expected to tackle the funding gap and support the accomplishment ofSustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 6 on clean water and sanitation. The Indonesian government has established theIndonesia Water Fund (IWF) to advance investments and the provision of cleanwater across Indonesia. Zuna noted thatthe IWF is expected to operate up to 1 billion USD of funding for clean waterprojects./.
