Indonesia, Norway work to reduce emissions

Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian and Norwegian Governments have launched the fourth p๊hase of result-based contribution (RBC) funding cooperation for emission reduction.

At the launching ceremony on December 10, Indonesian Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said Indonesia had earlier submitted the results of the measurement, reporting, and verification documents for the fourth phase in 2023.
He revealed that Norway would contribute 60 million USD to the Indonesian Government in the fourth phase based on Indonesia's success in reducing deforestation from 2019-2020. Norway has contributed 216 million USD to emission reductions from tackling deforestation carried out by the Indonesian government. Indonesian Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni affirmed that the collaboration was a form of collective effort to address climate change at the grassroots level through the implementation of Indonesia FOLU Net Sink 2030./.
