Hanoi (VNA)
– Indonesia recorded 4,301 more COVID-19 cases and 79 deaths in the last24 hours, lifting its total number of infections and fatalities to 353,461 and 12,347,respectively.

It surpassed the Philippines to become the country in Southeast Asia with thehighest number of infections and deaths.

Meanwhile, with 3.139 new cases recently reported, the Philippines’s total numberof COVID-19 infections reached 351,750, including 6,531 deaths.
However, the Philippinegovernment announced that it would abolish the restrictions on unnecessarytravel activities previously imposed.

The policy will take effect from October 21 and benefit Filipinos who wantto visit their relatives abroad, according to Harry Roque, the spokesperson of Philippine President RodrigoDuterte.

Businesses and stores in the country will be allowed to resume sales andmarketing activities, he added./.
