Indonesia on November 23 wrapped up the task of identifying victims of the Lion Air jet crash that killed 189 people aboard, according to local authorities.

Hanoi (VNA) - Indonesia on November 23 wrapped upthe task of identifying victims of the Lion Air jet crash that killed 189people aboard, according to local authorities.

Arthur Tampi, head of thenational police medical centre, said as of November 23, 125 people - 89 men and36 women have been identified after testing on found body parts. They includetwo foreigners - an Italian and an Indian national.

The Boeing 737 Max - one ofthe world's newest and most advanced commercial planes - plunged into the JavaSea on October 29 shortly after taking off from capital Jakarta to PangkalPinang city, killing all on board.

The jet’s flight data recorderwas recovered but divers are still looking for the cockpit voice recorder.

A formal preliminary report onwhat might have caused the crash is expected to be announced on November 28.-VNA
