The Indonesian Trade Ministry has agreed to step up cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in promoting human resources and increasing information exchange, according to Antara News.

Jakarta (VNA)
– The IndonesianTrade Ministry has agreed to step up cooperation with the US Consumer ProductSafety Commission (CPSC) in promoting human resources and increasinginformation exchange, according to Antara News.

The move is a follow up to the signing of aMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the US CPSC and the DirectorateGeneral of Consumer Protection and Orderly Businesses of the Indonesian TradeMinistry in Jakarta on December 15 last year concerning consumer productsafety.
Thecooperation will be valid until 2019.

It reflects the Indonesian ministry’s commitmentto improving product safety and protecting consumers, Director General of the DirectorateGeneral of Consumer Protection and Orderly Businesses Syahrul Mamma told thepress.

He affirmed that the quality of productscirculating in the Indonesian market will be guaranteed. 

In addition, made-in-Indonesia products areexpected to meet quality requirements in the US market, he noted.-VNA
