The 2015 International Technology and Equipment Market of Vietnam (Techmart 2015) opened at the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre on October 1. The four-day exhibition aims to promote the development of the technology market, create links and facilitate cooperation between scientific research organisations and businesses and improve the use of technology and competitiveness of the national economy.
The event is expected to attract some 600 organisations and businesses from Vietnam, ASEAN, the European Community, the United States and Russia. The exhibition will also feature many seminars focusing on four topics: clean and renewable energy, EU-ASEAN creativity innovation, new materials and science and technology for new rural development.
At Techmart, innovations uncovered through scientific research, especially in the field of technology, and new equipment that will have a tremendous impact on the economy will be introduced and transferred to the relevant industries, Le Xuan Dinh, Director of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information at the Ministry of Science and Technology, said. Techmart Vietnam 2012 attracted 500 companies, researchers and organisations and saw the signing of 1,200 memoranda of understanding worth more than 1.52 trillion VND (67.54 million USD) between the participants of the event.-VNA

PM calls for coo꧋peration with Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
