Int’l Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Conference opens in HCM City

The 13 International Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16 to share state-of-the-art technologies in the field.
The 13 InternationalOdonto-Maxillo-Facial Conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16to share state-of-the-art technologies in the field.

Over 500 Vietnamese dentists across the country and well-knowncolleagues from the US , Australia , Colombia , China , the Republic ofKorea , the Philippines and Thailand shared experiences in applying thelatest technology in plastic surgery, orthopaedics and dental implants.

According to Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong, Director of the NationalOdonto-Stomatology Hospital , the Vietnam ’s odonto-maxillo-facialsector has obtained breakthrough achievements in science andtechnology, quickly upgrading to adopt advanced techniques from aroundthe world.

He added that hosting the conference was an important opportunity forVietnam to learn about advanced technology in health care from theworld’s odonto-maxillo-facial sector.

The conference will run until July 17./.

Health sector calls on people to donate blood

During the peak months of July and August 2025, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) needs at least 90,000 units of blood to supply 180 hospitals in the northern region. However, despite continuous efforts, the reserve blood is still short of 30,000 units.

Over the past six months, 150 communal health stations in provinces including Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Tay Ninh, Hau Giang, Ben Tre and Ca Mau have been equipped with information technology systems. In addition, 117 key provincial healthcare workers have received training, with thousands more expected to follow.
