Japan aids healthcare, education projects in central province

The Japanese government will provide non-refundable aid worth 166,000 USD to help the central province of Nghe An to build a medical station and a high school.

Two contracts to this effect were signed in Hanoi on Dec. 15 betweenthe Japanese Ambassador and representatives from Nghe An province.

About 86,000 USD of the aid will be used to construct a junior high school in Tay Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

The remaining sum of 80,000 USD will be allocated to build a medical station in Quynh Hau commune, Quynh Luu district.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba expressed hishope that the two projects funded by the Japanese government wouldcontribute to improving healthcare and education in the province’s twomost difficult communes.

The Japanese government has given priorities to Vietnam throughnon-refundable aid programme, particularly in the health sector. At theconsultative group meeting for Vietnam in early December, Japanannounced to provide 1.6 billion USD in official development assistance(ODA)./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
