JICA to offer technical support for Vietnamese fishermen

The Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in SakaiCity, Hitoshi Kato made the remark at a meeting with President TruongTan Sang in Hanoi on February 4.

He also vowed to do his utmost to make the ocean tuna export cooperation programme between Vietnam and Japan a success.

President Truong Tan Sang thanked the guest for his role in theVietnam-Japan cooperation programme on improving the efficiency of oceantuna catching in central Binh Dinh province.

The President said he hopes the programme will be expanded to other Vietnamese localities.

He also acknowledged Kato’s active contributions to connecting centralVietnamese Da Nang and Quang Nam localities with Japanese partners, andsupporting Vietnamese students in Sakai city.-VNA
