Jrai-Vietnamese dialect electronic dictionary launched

The new Jrai-Vietnamese dialect electronic dictionary has recently been introduced.
The new Jrai-Vietnamese dialect electronic dictionary has recentlybeen introduced becoming the first-ever dictionary of Vietnam’s ethnicminority languages.

After two years of implementation, the GiaLai Information and Communications Department completed theelectronic-dictionary with more than 9,359 Jrai words which are listedin both Vietnamese and Jrai languages.

The dictionary is aneffective way to preserve and bring into play the national culturalidentity, contributing to conserving the Tay Nguyen songs recognised bythe United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation asan intangible cultural heritage.

Furthermore, it is a useful tool for cadres, public employees, linguists and citizens to study Jrai language and culture.

The dictionary is expected to consolidate national unity and understanding between Jrai people and other ethnic groups.

The department also made a 50-minute film on the traditions, customs and typical cultural characteristics of Jrai people./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
