Khanh Hoa announces 38 leading tourist destinations

The Tourism Association of the southern central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has announced 38 local tourist destinations known for providing high quality and safe services for visitors.

The association granted certificates for the spots during a New Year meeting to honour local enterprises on February 28.

The destinations include restaurants, hotels, relics, beauty spots andentertainment centres that offer reasonable prices and good service,meeting the requirements of a diverse and modern tourism sector andcontributing to enhancing the trademark of Nha Trang city and Khanh Hoaprovince in general.

Some listed names are PonagarTower, Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography, Doctor Alexandre Yersin’sGrave and the Vinpearl Amusement Park, as well as some new names such asWaterland Thach Lam Stream Amusement Park, Khanh Hoa bird’s nestrestaurant and the Hai Thai ancient houses.

Lastyear, the provincial tourism sector made impressive progress with threemillion visitors, up nearly 30 percent year on year, including over711,000 foreign arrivals, a rise of 34 percent. The sector also earnednearly four trillion VND in the year.

In 2014, theprovince is set to welcome 3.4 million tourists, including 840,000foreign visitors, earning five trillion VND from tourism.

On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee also presentedcertificates of merit to nine enterprises and two individuals that havemade positive contributions to the development of the local tourismsector.-VNA
