Khmer-VN friendship school opened in Cambodia

A Khmer-Vietnam Friendship primary school was inaugurated in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province on February 27 to enable children in far-flung areas in the locality to get access to education.
A Khmer-Vietnam Friendship primary school was inaugurated in Cambodia’sSiem Reap province on February 27 to enable children in far-flung areasin the locality to get access to education.

The two-classroomwooden school, funded by Vietnam ’s Southern Television Station, isrested on the Tonle Sap ­Lake in remote Ta Neang village, KongpongKhleng commune, where children yet reach any forms of education.

Lessonsat the school will be first taught on Vietnamese and later on Khmerlanguage as the village is home to both overseas Vietnamese andCambodians.

Chairman of Kongpong Khleng communal People’s CouncilTouch Sothia praised Vietnamese donors’ assistance given no school wasever built in the area.

At the inauguration ceremony, Vietnamesedonors presented clothes, books and utensils to overseas Vietnamese andpoor Cambodians living in the village.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
