Kon Tum: gifts to disadvantaged people on Vu Lan Festival
The Executive Board of the Buddhist Sangha of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum will offer over 2,000 gifts to disadvantaged people on the occasion of the major Buddhist festival, Vu Lan.

According to the Most Venerable Thich QuangXa, Head of the Executive Board, local orphans, elderly disadvantaged people, victimsof Agent Orange/dioxin and needy Buddhist families will receive school items,rice, noodles, cooking oil and sugar. Hundreds of meal boxes will also be presentedto patients at the Kon Tum General Hospital. Vu Lan is a festival that is celebrated annuallybetween the 10th to 15th day of the seventh lunar month, during whichpeople express their gratefulness and appreciation to their parents andancestors.-VNA
Vu lan (Ullambana) – a major Buddhist festival, will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on August 31, Most Venerable Thich Gia Quang, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council has said.
Ho Chi Minh City’s art troupes and cultural centres will offer several shows to celebrate the annual Buddhist holiday of Vu Lan, an event that eulogises motherly love, held annually in the seventh month of the lunar calendar.
A Buddhist Cultural Fortnight began at Pho Quang pagoda in HCM City on August 21 to mark the Vu Lan festival which is held annually in the seventh month of the lunar calendar to pay tribute to motherly love.
The housing programme in Dak Lak has drawn broad participation from provincial agencies, businesses, armed forces, and youth volunteers. To date, over 7,000 houses have been completed and handed over, helping residents stabilise their lives and improve economic conditions.
The project aims to return the artefact to its original condition, preserving its form, structure, colours, and historical integrity. The restoration supports long-term preservation and highlights the value of this iconic piece.
