Korean firms to explore business opportunities in Singapore

Leaders of major groups and smaller businesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK) will join President Moon Jae-in on his state visit to Singapore this week, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) said on July 9.

Seoul (VNA) - Leaders of major groups and smallerbusinesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK) will join President Moon Jae-in onhis state visit to Singapore this week, the Korea Trade-Investment PromotionAgency (KOTRA) said on July 9. 

Moon, who is on afour-day trip to India, is scheduled to visit Singapore from July 11-13, duringwhich he plans to hold a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee HsienLoong. 

The RoK President will beaccompanied by a large-scale delegation composed of heads and high-rankingofficials of 72 conglomerates and smaller companies, as well as chiefs ofbusiness bodies, according to KOTRA. 

They include a vicechairman of tech giant Samsung Electronics Co., the CEO of top automakerHyundai Motor Co. and a vice chairman of LG Group. 

Businessmenrepresenting smaller companies include the chairmen of Ssangyong Engineering& Construction Co., Hyundai Group, SM Group, and food and beverage giantSPC Group. 

Also on the listare the head of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, the KOTRApresident, the president of the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the chief ofKorea Investment Corp. 

The  RoK business delegation is slated to attend aKorea-Singapore Business Forum on July 12 to discuss ways to promote bilateralcooperation.-VNA
