The image of the land and people of Vietnam through the lens of journalist Jaroslav Picka has been introduced at a photo exhibition that opened in Rakovník, a central city of the Czech Republic on June 23.

Prague (VNA) – The image of the land and people ofVietnam through the lens of journalist Jaroslav Picka has been introduced at aphoto exhibition that opened in Rakovník, a central city of the Czech Republicon June 23.

More than 60 photos at the exhibition feature landscapesand daily life of Vietnamese people in different regions. They were chosen from thousands of photosthat the Czech journalist took between 1986 and 2006 through 26 visits to theSoutheast Asian country.

He said that from the first time he arrived in Vietnam in1986, he was impressed by the natural landscapes and people of Vietnam andstarted his love for the nation.

Through the exhibition, he hopes to spread the image of Vietnamwith long-standing cultural tradition, friendly and kind people, he said at theopening of the exhibition.

Through the photos, the 87-year-old author gave visitors aninsights of Vietnam with landscapes from the north to the south and the biodiversityin the country.

The veteran journalist has also been a close friend ofVietnamese people in the Czech Republic, who has given support to the communityin settling down in the European country.

The exhibition will stay open until September 17./.
