Laos awards medals to Da Nang’s volunteer soldiers
The Lao State has presented medals and orders to 33 officials, experts, and volunteer soldiers in Vietnam’s central Da Nang city in recognition of their contributions to Laos’s revolution.
Da Nang (VNA) – The Lao State has presented medals and orders to 33 officials,experts, and volunteer soldiers in Vietnam’s central Da Nang city inrecognition of their contributions to Laos’s revolution.
The presentation ceremony took place in Da Nang on April 20 as one ofactivities to salute the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomaticties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-LaosFriendship and Cooperation Treaty.
Khamsena Phommaseng, Consul General of Laos in Da Nang, said Vietnamese volunteersoldiers fought side by side with Lao armed forces during the two resistancewars.
Da Nang sent hundreds of courageous volunteer soldiers to Laos, he noted.
In 2016, the State of Laos presented orders and medals to nearly 9,000officials, experts and soldiers of Vietnam to acknowledge their exploits andsacrifices to Laos’s revolutionary cause, he said.-VNA
Seventeen Vietnamese officials, volunteer experts and soldiers who had performed international missions in Laos have been awarded with the orders and medals of Laos.
Leaders of Lao Party, State, and National Assembly have spoken highly of the contributions made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts to Laos’s national liberation cause.
A ceremony was held in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son on February 28 to present Laos’s orders and medals to the provincial volunteer soldiers and military experts in recognition of their contributions to Laos’s revolutionary cause.
