Late President Ho Chi Minh’s lotus-made portrait on display

A portrait of the late President Ho Chi Minh made of thousands of white and pink lotuses will be on display on May 17 at Dai Tue Pagoda, Nam Dan district in the central province of Nghe An.

The event is one of a series of activities to mark the birthday ofthe late President Ho Chi Minh, founder and first president of theSocialist Republic of Vietnam.

The 4x6metre-sized portrait will be placed on an 1m-high steel pedestal onemetre tall and is expected to be one of the highlights of the upcoming2015 Buddha’s Birthday Festival.

It is hopedthat the portrait, which is to be recognised as the biggest lotus-madepicture in the world by the Guinness World Records, will draw touriststo Nghe An.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
