Hanoi (VNA) – The NationalAssembly (NA) voted on the appointment of new Minister of Transport andGovernment Inspector General via secret ballot at its ongoing fourth session onthe morning of October 26.

Nguyen Van The, member of the Communist Partyof Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Secretary of the Soc Trang provincialParty Committee was nominated for Minister of Transport, while Le Minh Khai,member of the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Lieu provincialParty Committee, was introduced to the post of Government Inspector General.

The results of the vote will be announced onthe afternoon of October 26.

A day earlier, the legislature relievedTruong Quang Nghia of the post of Transport Minister and Phan Van Sau of thepost of Government Inspector General, also using secret ballot, in moves toreshuffle Government personel.

Nghia is now Secretary of the Da Nangmunicipal Party Committee, while Sau will perform The’s former role as Secretaryof the Soc Trang provincial Party Committee.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressedher hope that in their new positions, Nghia and Sau will continue to join localauthorities and people in successfully performing their duties.

Also on the morning of October 26, lawmakersdiscussed a bill on amendments and supplements to the Law on CreditInstitutions. - VNA
