National Assembly deputies looked into the implementation of the 2013State budget estimates, the State budget estimates and allocation forthe next year at their sitting in Hanoi on November 2.

They agreed to prioritise capital to projects on National Highway 1A expansion and National Highway 14 construction.

Some suggested reviewing total investment in a number of projects andadjusting their design so as to cut wasteful expenditures that, according to them, should be instead channelled into hospital andirrigation projects slated to be concluded by 2014-2015.

Mulling over the three-year implementation of the 2011-2013 nationaltarget programmes, lawmakers shared the view that the mobilisation andallocation of funding remain slow, resulting in their low quality andsluggish implementation.

A majority of them proposedallocating capital to the National Target Programmes on sustainablepoverty reduction, employment and vocational training, construction ofnew rural areas, clean water supply and rural environmental hygiene, andclimate change response.-VNA
