Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary andPresident Nguyen Phu Trong on February 26 sent a thank-you message to CambodianKing Norodom Shihamoni right after concluding his two-day visit to theneighbouring country.

In the message, he showed his strong impression at the warmsentiment that the King, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk as wellas Cambodian leaders and people gave to him and the Vietnamese delegation,which reflects the traditional friendship and sound neighbourliness between thetwo countries.

The leader said that the visit was effective in the spirit offriendship and good neighbourliness.

“We strongly believe that the outcomes of the visit, alongwith the determination of both sides in effectively implementing jointstatements and bilateral agreements, the sound neighbourliness, traditionalfriendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term stability between Vietnamand Cambodia will continuously develop for the benefit of people of both sidesand for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and theworld,” the message read.

The Vietnamese leader expressed his wish that under the ruleof the King as well as clear-sighted leadership of the National Assembly,Senate and Government of Cambodia, the Cambodian people will gain more achievementsin national conciliation, defence and construction, successfully building aCambodia of peace, neutrality, democracy and social progress.

He wished the sound neighbourliness, traditional friendshipand comprehensive partnership between the two countries will remain forever.

The Vietnamese leader also wished good health, happiness andsuccess to Cambodian leaders.
