Welcoming thedelegates to the 2014 ASOCIO ICT Summit, the Prime Minister said theVietnamese Government considers information and communicationstechnology as a new development tool to increase productivity andcompetitiveness.
Apart from establishing a nationalSteering Committee on the application of ICT, the Government hasapproved a mechanism on ICT services in State-run offices to enhance theIT application and management efficiency, he noted.
The Prime Minister said he hopes the ASOCIO and ICT businesses will support Vietnam in the field in the near future.
Established in 1984, ASOCIO is responsible for promoting trade betweenits members and developing the ICT industry in the region. Theassociation represents 29 economies with over 10,000 ICT companies andtotal revenues of 350 million USD.
The ASOCIO ICTSummit is currently taking place in Hanoi and Da Nang city underthe theme “ICT - the new paradigm for socio-economic development andagricultural restructuring”.-VNA
