Hanoi (VNA) – Late Party 🦩General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has left many valuable lessons and a substantial legacy with ideas that will have a lasting impact, according to Professor, Doctor of Science, ✅People’s Teacher Vu Minh Giang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences.

Giang, who is also Chairman of the Council for Science and Training at the Vietnam National University Hanoi, said that the late leader’s "bamboo diplomacy" philosophy has further developed Ho Chi Minh's thought of “utilising the variables to cope with the variables”. This means that while roots remain sturdy, branches and leaves can be flexible. This approach is particularly effective in the current complex international context. This diplomatic policy is also proving highly effective in enhancing Vietnam's position, he added. In addition, the late General Secretary contributed to reinforcing people's trust in the Party through the fight against corruption, the official said, adding that there was a period when corruption eroded the public's trust in the Party, destabilised the nation, and affected the survival of the regime.
Trong personally initiated and directly led the campaign to rectify the Party and combat corruption, with no exceptions or off-limits areas, and its greatest achievement has been the strengthening of public trust. As late President Ho Chi Minh once stated the Party’s strength lies in the support of the people, and the driving force behind that support is trust. When the people trust, the Party's mission succeeds, and losing trust means losing everything.

The legacy left by the late General Secretary can be described in one word: monumental, Giang said, adding that his books and publications embody Nguyen Phu Trong’s thought which will have a lasting impact. Firstly, it is a wholehearted devotion to the interests of the nation and people. It is also an affirmation that the nation must have a worthy foundation and position in the international arena.
The second is humanity. Although he initiated and directed the fight against corruption, it can be seen that the combat exudes humane and humanitarian values. That ideology is very Vietnamese, that is, everything must come from the heart, and from the heart, success will be sustainable. The third legacy is to create a shining example of not caring about personal interests but sacrificing until the last breath for the cause of the Party and the country, Giang stressed. Regarding the impact of late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s thoughts on young generations, the professor said that Vietnamese people have a characteristic that when their national will and spirit are inspired, they can generate extraordinary strength. When each person feels moved by national pride and realises that they cannot be mediocre but must rise to prominence, they can harness their inner strength to their fullest potential, thus creating immense power. This is clearly reflected in Nguyen Phu Trong’s thought. Secondly, when striving to become successful in society, it is essential to pay attention to one key aspect: upholding spiritual values. Late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always emphasised that a person's honor is the most sacred and noble thing.
Lastly, to earn respect from others, one must be willing to sacrifice. Achieving honor and recognition requires selflessness and dedication, which are crucial for gaining the respect of others, added the professor./.
