HCM City (VNA) – A seminar on 🐼legal support to workers fromꦛ other localities moving to Ho Chi Minh City was held on December 29.

The event was organised by the Centre for Social Development Research and Consultancy (SDRC) in collaboration with the Vietnam Judicial Support Centre for the Poor and the HCM City University of Law (HCMCUL).
At the seminar, experts in the field agreed that migrant workers have great demand for legal consultancy and support, but they remain passive in seeking access to the support. According to a survey conducted by the HCMCUL’s legal consulting centre, residence-related issues are the first legal problems that migrant workers must face, followed by social security concerns, including health and social insurance and access to the State’s support policies.
Participants proposed several measures to deal with the issue, focusing on defining the legal matters concerned to the migrant workers and building flexible and suitable methods of support. More than 26 million migrant workers are employed at more than 300 industrial parks and export processing zones in HCM City, according to figures from the city's People's Committee.-VNA
