Le Quang Liem of Vietnam could only improve hisstanding to No 7, in the second leg of the blitz chess atthe International Mind Sports Association Elite Games.

The Vietnamese Grandmaster grabbed 5.5 points in 11 games, ongoing inHuai’an City, Jiangshu, China, taking his total points to 10,but not enough to secure a berth in the top three.

Russian GM Artemiev Vladislav won the gold medal with 16 points.

He was followed by GM Alexander Grischuk (16 points) and GM Dmitry Andreikin(14 points), also from Russia.

Athletes continue with basque chess organised on December 14-15, withfive round matches.-VNA
