HCM City (VNA) – The 2016 Vietnam’s Premier⛎ Internation🐷al Feed, Livestock & Meat Industry Show (Vietstock 2016) kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on October 19 with the participation of over 300 businesses from 35 countries around the world.

Held every two years by the Department of Animal Husbandry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the event aims to assist the sustainable development of animal husbandry.
On display are livestock varieties, husbandry equipment, machinery for cattle-feed processing factories and animal medicine. According to head of the animal husbandry department Hoang Thanh Van, the sector is undergoing a shift from small-scale farming to industrial livestock production to ensure food safety and reduce environmental pollution.
Particularly, the industry has recorded high growth over the past 15 years, he said, adding that Vietnam has become one of the leading animal feed producers in ASEAN. The exhibition is expected to help businesses access scientific and technological advances in the field and market information as well as exchange experience and seek partners, he added. The event will run until October 21 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre.-VNA
