Long An (VNA) - Enterprises operating in the Mekong Delta province of Long An receivedupdates on the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and internationaleconomic integration in general at a conference hosted by the provincialPeople’s Committee on October 9.

Ngo Chung Khanh, deputy head of the Ministryof Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Multilateral Trade Policy Department, briefed thosein attendance on the policies and views of the Party and the State oninternational economic integration as well as instructions for implementing keycontents of new-generation FTAs, including the EVFTA and the Comprehensive andProgressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee NguyenVan Ut highlighted the significance of the signing of the EVFTA, saying that itcontributes to accelerating economic restructuring, changing growth models, andcreating favourable conditions for businesses to join newly-formed value chainsin partnerships between Vietnam and other countries worldwide.

The deal also opens up more opportunities for Vietnamese businesses in generaland those in Long An in particular to expand export markets./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
