Hanoi (VNA) –Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on March 12 that the MalaysiaAirlines could be sold or shut down, which is the latest bad news for thenational flag carrier of Malaysia.
Talking to the press on thefuture of the 71-year-old airline, PM Mahathir Mohamad said the Malaysiangovernment is studying options for the national carrier, stressing that it is avery serious matter to shut down the airline.
He said a decision should bemade soon.
Following two disasters in 2014when flight MH370 disappeared and flight MH17 was shot down over easternUkraine, Malaysia Airlines was taken private by sovereign wealth fund KhazanahNasional Bhd, which undertook some major reforms.
