Many foreign delegations to attend Nha Trang Sea Festival

The embassies of India, Malaysia and Ireland together with 11 consulates general in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang have registered to attend the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2013, scheduled for June 8-11 in central Khanh Hoa province.

Theinformation was released by the provincial People’s Committee at a pressconference in Nha Trang city on May 31 to announce the biennialfestival.

An art troupe from Japan will presenttraditional Bon odori and Flamenco dances at the event while the US’sJazz Five Play group will perform jazz. Guests from Morbihan provinceof France will coordinate with the Hai Dao Tourism Joint StockCompany to organise a wine fiesta on June 9.

Withmore than 60 cultural, sports and economic activities, fairs andworkshops, the festival - the sixth of its kind since 2003 - aims tohighlight the traditional cultural features of local seas and islands aswell as to introduce the maritime tourism potential and strengths ofKhanh Hoa in particular and the central coastal provinces in general.

Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa provincial People’sCommittee Le Xuan Than said that this year’s event will devote dozens ofactivities towards the province’s Truong Sa archipelago, thusmanifesting the whole nation’s affection towards this sacred land of thecountry and affirms national sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Saarchipelagos.-VNA
