Coach Toshyia Miura and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) agreed torejuvenate the national team for the future tournaments.
Meetingin Hanoi on December 15, the two sides said that the decision was madeto give young players opportunities to get international experience andprepare for the important ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup in 2016.
Miura,who failed to push Vietnam to the final of this year's AFF Cup, was notgiven any achievement target. His top priority is to focus on building astable team with sharpened skills and competitiveness.
Miura hasbeen given a free hand to select players and assistants for hisnational and U23 teams. He can refer to a list of 30 names of the bestplayers that will be provided by the VFF.
The 51-year-old will start his search at the V-League which will kick off next month.
TheJapanese coach, on his part, asked the VFF and the Vietnam ProfessionalFootball Company to finalise a suitable domestic competition scheduleso that it will not affect his plans to summon players to his teams.
The first task of the U23 team will be to participate in the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore next June.
They will be called for training in May.
The national team will compete in several friendly matches.
Later,they will take part in an international tournament, organised by theMinistry of Culture, Sports and Tourism next September.-VNA
