Mobile app creation contest kicks off

Vietnamese individuals and organisations, inside and outside the country, have been invited to take part in a contest on developing applications for mobile devices.

The Vietnam InternetAssociation and Microsoft Corporation in co-operation with TingWorld, aVietnamese mobile application company, and Xa Hoi Thong Tin (InformationSociety) magazine have organised the contest, aimed at boosting thedevelopment of the Vietnamese mobile market.

In acategory for completed products, the board of judges will award 50million VND (nearly 2,400 USD) for the first prize, 20 million VND (950USD) for the second and 10 million VND (nearly 480 USD) for the third.Meanwhile, the board will give 15 million VND (700 USD), 10 million VNDand 5 million VND (240 USD) for the top three outstanding ideas,respectively.

Organisers and sponsors will also presentawards for exceptional products. Microsoft will give an award worth 20million VND for an app with creative solutions to solve issue in citiesof Vietnam .

Mobogenie, an Android synchronisationsoftware and applications developer, will grant 20 million VND for themost downloaded app at the Mobogenie market. The same amount will alsobe given to the best ideas or products for the community by TingWorldcompany.

The awards ceremony will be held in HCM City in the beginning of December.

Participants are required to submit their complete products or ideasfrom August 1 to September 30 to Xa Hoi Thong Tin magazine, 10 Ha HoiStreet in Hanoi.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
