Mongolia seeks cooperation with HCM City

The Mongolian capital city of Ulan Bator wishes to establish cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City to exchange experiences in construction and development as well as in the operation of the HCM City People’s Council.

The Chairman of Ulan Bator’sPeople’s Council Bilegt Tudev made the statement at a meeting withChairwoman of HCM City People’s Council Pham Phuong Thao, in HCMCity on October 11.

During the meeting, the twoleaders agreed on the need to boost cooperation between localities ofVietnam and Mongolia , including the multifaceted cooperation betweenHCM City and Ulan Bator .

Thao said theVietnam visit by the Ulan Bator delegation on the occasion of the1,000 anniversary of the capital city of Thang Long-Hanoi was anopportunity to strengthen traditional friendship between two peoples,states and localities of the two nations.

Shestressed the desire for HCM City and Ulan Bator , as big citieswith strong economies, to bolster cooperative relations, matching thetraditional friendship and cooperation of the two countries.

For his part, Bilegt Tudev said although Mongolia-Vietnam relationshave developed for a long time, cooperation between the two localitiesstill does not match their potential.

He also spokehighly of beefing up cooperation with Vietnamese cities, especially HCMCity , named after the late President Ho Chi Minh, whose name was sofamiliar to Ulan Bator ’s citizens./.
