More protest letter sent to Chinese Embassy abroad
A letter condemning China’s escalating militarisation in Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes has been sent to the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic.

Prague (VNA) – ꦦA letter condemning China’s escalating militarisation in Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes has been sent to the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic by the Vietnamese community in the country.
The letter was read out in Vietnamese, Czech and English in front of the embassy’s headquarters in Prague capital city. The event drew the participation of more than 400 people who represented more than 65,000 Vietnamese in the European nation.
In the five-point letter, the overseas Vietnamese requested China to immediately stop its illegal reclamation of man-made islands and militarisation in the East Sea, and not threaten its neighbouring countries as well as Vietnamese fishermen.
They also asked China to withdraw from islands in the two archipelagoes that it illegally occupied, give up its irrational “nine-dash line” claim and observe international maritime law.
China must respect Vietnam’s territorial integrity and behave responsibly in ensuring peace and stability in the region, the letter said.
Duong Dinh Tuy, President of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association in the Czech Republic, told the Vietnam News Agency that the sending of the letter demonstrates the overseas Vietnamese’s protest against China’s illegal acts as well as their resolve to protect the homeland.
Vu Thi Ha, President of the Vietnamese Association in the country, said the rally drew the attention of Czech friends who love Vietnam.
Marcel Winter, President of the Czech-Vietnam Friendship Association, pledged to stand side by side with Vietnam to defend its sovereignty in the East Sea.
Earlier, overseas Vietnamese in the Republic of Korea and Switzerland sent their protest letters to the Chinese Embassy in these countries.-VNA
