- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam landed at Dublin Airport at 8:30 pm on October 1 (local time), beginning a state visit to Ireland at the invitation of Irish President Michael D. Higgins.

The Vietnamese delegation was welcomed at the airport by Irish Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture Food & the Marine Pippa Hackett, Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs Eamonn McKee, Mayor of Fingal Dublin Brian McDonagh, Ambassador to Vietnam Deirdre Ní Fhallúin, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ireland Do Minh Hung and his spouse, along with several staff members from the Vietnamese Embassy. - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam and his entourage left Ulaanbaatar on October 1, concluding their two-day state visit to Mongolia and heading to Ireland for a state visit at the invitation of Irish President Michael D. Higgins.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 1 called for the launch of a concentrated drive lasting 450 days and nights, pooling public strength to eradicate temporary and dilapidated housing nationwide by the end of 2025.

Chairing a meeting in Hanoi between permanent Government members and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), ministries and agencies, PM Chinh outlined a plan to eliminate over 153,000 sub-standard homes for poor and near-poor households, saying that a campaign is underway in celebration of several national milestones next year, including the 14th National Party Congress, the 80th anniversary of National Day, and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. Speaking at a reception for New Zealand Ambassador Caroline Beresford, Chinh expressed his delight at the sound development of the relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand, especially after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in July 2020.
