Hanoi (VNA) - Bad weathercaused a Myanmar military plane with 122 people on board to crash last month,local authority announced on July 19, saying it is one of the deadliestaviation accidents in the country's history.

Recordingsfrom the black box showed that the plane had gone into a nosedive after icebuilt up on the wings and a sudden increase in crosswinds caused the engine tostall, said state media.

Investigatorsconcluded that the crash was not from any act of sabotage, explosion or enginefailure, it added.

Theblack box data was analysed by investigators from Myanmar and Australia.
The 8F-200W plane, serial 5820, of the Myanmar AirForce, was carrying 122 people, including 108 passengers and 14 crew members,and 2.4 tonnes of cargo when it lost contact with air traffic control around 30minutes after take-off from Myeik city on its way to Yangon.
Theaircraft is supposed to plunge into the Andaman Sea while flying at a height of5,486m.

Theaccident occurred more than one year after the China National Aero-TechnologyImport and Export Corporation (CATIC) handed over the plane to the Myanmar AirForce in March 2016. –VNA
