Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw arrived in Chengdu, capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan, on April 6, beginning his six-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw arrived in Chengdu,capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan, on April 6, beginning hissix-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He was accompanied by a delegation of more than 30, including ministers of commerceand construction.

The Myanmar President will meet with Chinese leaders to boost bilateralrelations and cooperation.

China is the largest trading partner of and the biggest source of foreignfunding for Myanmar, with Chinese investment accounting for 26.57 percent oftotal foreign investment in the Southeast Asian nation.

Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi had a five-day official trip inChina last August. On the occasion, two sides agreed to bolster China-Myanmar relations.-VNA
