NA Chairman condoles with Turkey, Syria over quake damage
Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue has sent letters expressing his deepest sympathy to Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the People's Council of Syria Hammouda Youssef Sabbagh, legislatures and people of the two countries over serious damage caused by the recent devastating earthquake there.

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the VietnameseNational Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue has sent letters expressing his deepest sympathyto Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop, Speakerof the People's Council of Syria Hammouda Youssef Sabbagh, legislaturesand people of the two countries over serious damage caused by the recent devastatingearthquake there.
In his letters sent onFebruary 8, Chairman Hue expressed his belief that the Turkish and Syrian Statesand people will overcome this difficult and challenging period soon, and stabilisetheir socio-economic lives.
He affirmed thatVietnam is ready to join hands with the international community to help Syria andTurkey overcome consequences in its ability.

As one of the world's most activeearthquake zones, Turkey experienced several ওstrong earthquakes in the past,including the one with a magnitude of 7.4 in 1999 that was the most severe indecades, resulting in over 17,000 fatalities. The most recent 7-magnitudeearthq🎐uake occurred in October 2022 in Aegean, causing 114 deaths and over1,000 injured./.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey has contacted local authorities to find out if there were Vietnamese victims in the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in central Turkey and northwest Syria on early February 6 morning.
