Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man held working sessions with several NA committees on February 4.

During his meeting with the Economic Committee and the Finance and Budget Committee, the leader acknowledged their significant contributions to the legislature and the country in 2024.

Notably, the two committees have reviewed many bills and important issues for the NA to consider and approve, helping to remove institutional barriers and drive socio-economic development.

Man praised the committees’ leaders and staff for their unity and dedication in implementing the Party and State's policies on streamlining and reorganising the organisational structure.

Looking ahead, he emphasised that 2025 will be a crucial year to streamline the apparatus in line with the Party Central Committee’s Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, thereby selecting qualified cadres for the common development of the country. This requires maintaining a firm political mettle and steadfastly pursuing the goal of serving the Party, the people, and national development.

At the working session with the Committee for Legal Affairs and the Committee for Judicial Affairs, Man commended their excellent performance in 2024, particularly in improving the law-making process.

Pointing out the heavy workload for 2025, he urged the committees to continue addressing challenges, working in unity, and striving for the highest quality outcomes. He also instructed them to thoroughly review key draft laws, including the amended Law on Organisation of the Government and the revised Law on Organisation of Local Administration, to support the reorganisation and streamlining of the state apparatus for greater efficiency.

Meeting with the Committee for Culture and Education and the Committee for Social Affairs, the top legislator acknowledged their dedication in 2024 despite limited resources and a heavy workload. He praised their efforts in improving legislative quality and supreme supervision, and making critical decisions.

The two committees successfully coordinated efforts to rearrange and streamline the organisational apparatus, achieving a high level of consensus, he noted, urging them to intensify their efforts and strengthen collaboration with relevant agencies to further improve the quality of the legislative work.

The same day, the leader held a working session with the Committee for National Defence and Security and the Committee for Foreign Affairs, during which he expressed his hope that in 2025, both committees will build on their successes, double their accomplishments, and make further contributions to national socio-economic development.

“Ensuring strong national defence, security, and foreign affairs is essential for maintaining economic growth and macroeconomic stability,” he said.

Also on February 4, Man visited ಞthe 𒆙Dai bieu nhan dan (People's Deputies) newspaper./.
