Hanoi (VNA) – A high-leveldelegation of the Vietnam National Assembly led by Chairwoman Nguyen Thi KimNgan left Hanoi on October 14 to attend the 137th Assembly of theInter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-137) and related meetings in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from October 14-15.

Her participation at the IPU-137 is made at the invitation of IPU PresidentSaber Chowdhury, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia ValentinaIvanovna Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.

Vietnam’s presence at the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union(IPU-137) and related meetings affirms its active participation in multilaterallegislature activities and continues help promote the legislature’s role in theinternational forum.

After the IPU-137, Chairwoman Ngan and her entourage will pay an official visitto Kazakhstan from October 16-18.

The visit is made at the invitation of Chairman of the Senate of the Parliamentof the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym Zhomart Tokayev, and Chairman of theMazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin.-VNA
