Hanoi (VNA) – Chairwoman of the NationalAssembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan urged for deeper cooperation between judicialsystems of Vietnam and Laos during her reception for Chief Justice of the LaoSupreme People’s Court Khamphanh Sithidampha in Hanoi on January 4.

During themeeting, Chief Justice Khamphanh Sithidampha briefed his host about results ofthe talks between the two countries’ courts earlier the day and their plans forfuture cooperation. At the talks, the two sides highly spoke of what they havetogether achieved in 2017.

The LaoChief Justice expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and people ofVietnam, particularly the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, for supportingthat of Laos.

He informed Ngan on the two courts’ activities during theVietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year – 2017, including educationprogrammes that provided their staff better understanding of the two nations’long-standing relations and experience sharing events.

He pledged to do his utmost to maintain and nurture theVietnam-Laos special ties.

ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan highly appreciated outcomes of the cooperation between thesupreme courts of Vietnam and Laos and asked the two sides to further developtheir ties in order to bring real benefits to the court system of the bothsides.

She suggested they should increase experience sharing anddelegation exchanges, and enhance cooperation in personnel training and relationsbetween their courts in different areas and at local levels.

Ngan extended her greetings to Lao NA Chairwoman PanyYathotou who will visit Vietnam for the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-PacificParliamentary Forum (APPF-26) in Hanoi this month.-VNA
