Dong Nai (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on August 8 urged the staff of the Dai Bieu Nhan Dan (The People's Representative) Newspaper, including its collaborators, to change their mindset and vision, promoting the newspaper’s role as the one of the legislature.

At the national conference of the newspaper’s collaborators held in Bien Hoa city, the southern province of Dong Nai, to which Party General Secretary and State President To Lam sent a bouquet, Man hailed the paper for having made intensive coverage of the NA’s performance in law-making, supervision and deciding the country’s important matters in a comprehensive, timely, and objective fashion.

The leader attributed the results to contributions by the collaborators, stressing the need to expand their network and promote their role to better cover the country’s major events in the time ahead.

Pointing to new development requirements, Man said the newspaper needs more significant and practical changes, towards harmony, professionalism, modernity, and efficiency.

He asked the staff to improve themselves, sharpen their political mettle, and play a more active role in the fight against corruption and other negative phenomena, stressing social criticism should be intensified to make it easier for the NA and People’s Councils to make decisions and supervise policies and decisions regarding the country’s rapid, sustainable development, and people’s legal and legitimate rights.

The leader expressed his belief that the newspaper will reap more achievements, contributing to building a proactive and united NA that acts drastically for the sake of the people and the nation.

Editor-in-Chief Pham Thi Thanh Huyen affirmed the newspaper’s efforts in turning challenges into chances, serving as the mouthpiece of t꧂he NA, and a forum for NA deputies, People’s Councils, and voters nationwide./.
