Hanoi (VNA) - The National Assembly StandingCommittee wrapped up its 45th session in Hanoi on June 1, chaired byNA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Directed by Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien, lawmakersgave their opinions, for the second time, on adjustments to a project buildingseveral sections of the North-South Expressway during the 2017-2020 period.

They later reviewed the implementation of the Committee’sResolution on the pilot merger of the Office of the NA Deputies’ Delegation,the Office of the People’s Council, and the Office of the People’s Committee atthe provincial level.

Under Hien’s direction, they also offered feedback onthe NA’s draft Resolution on reducing corporate income taxes for micro andsmall-sized enterprises this year.

Lawmakers agreed there is a need to cut corporateincome taxes to ease difficulties facing enterprises from COVID-19 as well as torealise Articles 10 and 16 of the Law on Support for Small- and Medium-SizedEnterprises 2017, which took effect on January 1, 2018.

They also later discussed personnel work, whichwill be submitted to the legislature for consideration./.
