Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam always considers theUS a one of the county’s leading trade partner, NA Vice Chairman Phung QuocHien told Vice President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council MichaelW.Michalak in Hanoi on March 9.
  
Hien appreciated the vital role played by the US business community in Vietnam andcontributions of US firms to Vietnam’s economic development in recent time,affirming that enhancing trade links is always crucial to promoting therelations between the two countries.

The Vietnamese National Assembly is willing to create favourable conditions forforeign firms, including those from the US, to expand investment in thecountry, he said, adding that it has been perfecting the legal mechanism in thedirection of transparency and publicity, including laws related to market economymechanism.

US firms operating in Vietnam should pay attention to protecting theenvironment and raising social responsibility while enhancing cooperation withVietnam in human resources training and technology transferring, Hien said.

For his part, Michael W.Michalak said US enterprises hope to boost links withVietnam across fields through dialogues and experience sharing.

He suggested the Vietnamese side accelerate the simplification ofadministrative procedures and tax policy reform in order to facilitate USfirms’ production and business in the country.-VNA
