Nam Dinh looks to sea for growth boost

Northern Nam Dinh province has mapped out the construction of the 13,950-hectare Ninh Co sea economic zone spanning Hai Hau and Nghia Hung districts as the driving force behind the future development of the locality.
Northern Nam Dinh province has mapped out the construction of the13,950-hectare Ninh Co sea economic zone spanning Hai Hau and Nghia Hungdistricts as the driving force behind the future development of thelocality.

The project was approved by the Prime Minister to be added to the national master plan for coast economic zones by 2020.

Once fully operational, Ninh Co is expected to become an internationalhub in industry, tourism, trade and sea ports, contributing 20 percentto the provincial gross domestic product.

As part ofthe future hub, Rang Dong textile industrial park has the potential toannually produce 1 billion metres of cloth, creating 100,000 jobs andgenerating 2 trillion VND (92 million USD) for the local budget.Construction of the IP is slated to begin in May.

According to the provincial Transport Department Director Le NguyenKhinh, Nam Dinh also prioritises transportation infrastructure projectswith an aim to connect Ninh Co with other provinces nationwide,including the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh highway and Lach Giang channel linkingthe Ninh Co and Day Rivers.-VNA
