Nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens flown home from France, Morocco, Chile

Vietnam’s competent agencies and embassies in France, Morocco and Chile, Vietnam Airlines, and authorised agencies of the three host nations have coordinated to arrange a flight to repatriate close to 280 Vietnamese citizens on September 8 and 9.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s competent agencies andembassies in France, Morocco and Chile, Vietnam Airlines, and authorisedagencies of the three host nations have coordinated to arrange a flight torepatriate close to 280 Vietnamese citizens on September 8 and 9.

The passengers included children under 18, the elderly,students completing their learning courses and facing accommodationdifficulties, stranded tourists, and workers with expired visas and labourcontracts.

Vietnamese missions have assisted the citizens in completingprocedures to travel to gather in Paris. Security, safety and hygiene measureswere carried out throughout the flight to protect their health and prevent thespread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Right after landing at the Tan Son Nhat internationalairport in Ho Chi Minh City, the passengers and crewmembers received healthcheck-up. They were sent to concentrated quarantine facilities in line withregulations.

In the future, more flights are set to be conducted torepatriate Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending ontheir need and quarantine capacity at home./.
