Hanoi (VNA) – Close to 39,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Japan in 2016, rising 47 percent compared to 2014 figure. 

Vietnamese students form the second largest community among over 200,000 international students from more than 170 countries studying in Japan, just after China. 

The figure was revealed at “Study in Japan” fair 2016, organised by Japan Alumni of Vietnam under the sponsorship of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam last weekend. 

ꦑ Representatives from the Japanese Embassy, Japan Student Services Organisation (JASSO) and Japanese universities provided participants with useful information on studying in Japan such as the scholarships system, support policies for foreign students, procedures to apply to Japanese schools and degree recognition.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.

ꦉ Tour boats in Ha Long Bay to complete AIS installation by August 15

According to national technical regulations, AIS installation is mandatory for boats carrying more than 50 passengers. However, operators of smaller vessels (under 50 seats) in Ha Long Bay have voluntarily committed to completing installation by the deadline to enhance operational safety.
