Nearly 61 million USD to improve Da Nang water environment

The People’s Committee of central Da Nang city has decided to approve a project on building works to improve water environment in the east of Son Tra district at a total cost of over 1.4 trillion VND (60.8 million USD) between now and 2020.

Da Nang (VNA) – The Pe🐭ople’s Committee ofcentral Da Nang city has decided to approve a p൲roject on building works toimprove water environment in the east of Son Tra district at a total cost ofover 1.4 trillion VND (60.8 million USD) between now and 2020.

Accordingly, it will build a system of sewers tocollect wastewater and part of rainwater, upgrade Son Tra wastewater treatmentstation (the second stage) with a total daily capacity of 40,000 cu.m during thedry season, and 100,000 cu.m during rainy season. The city will also build a sewer to transferwastewater and rainwater from Hoang Sa street to Son Tra wastewater treatment station,among others. The committee assigned themanagement board for transportation works to carry out the project effectivelywith ensured quality.-VNA

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recyclinꦯg, reuse, treatment effortꦰs

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
