Nearly 700 students to compete at Informatics, programming contests

Da Nang (VNA) – The 28thVietnam Informatics Olympiad, the international programming contest (Procon) andthe 2019 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia Da NangRegional programming contest kicked off in the central city of Da Nang onDecember 4.

About 700 students and 150 mentors haveregistered to take part in the events, hosted by the University of Science andTechnology - University of Da Nang.

Rector of the University of Science andTechnology Doan Quang Vinh said this is the second time it has been host of theVietnam Informatics Olympiad and the ICPC Asia, the largest contests ininformation and technology in Vietnam.

As many as 112 teams will take part in theICPC Asia, with 95 Vietnamese teams and 17 others from prestigious universitiesof Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, China, Indonesia and Myanmar.

The Da Nang regional programming contestserves as a qualifier for the ICPC Finals slated for 2020 in Russia.

The contests will be held until December7./.

PM calls for cooperation with Sw🦂eden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
