NEC adopts Resolution confirming eligibility of 499 NA deputies

The National Election Council (NEC) discussed and adopted a Resolution confirming the eligibility of 499 winners in the 15th National Assembly election during its eighth meeting in Hanoi on July 12.

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Election Council (NEC)discussed and adopted a Resolution confirming the eligibility of 499 winners inthe 15th National Assembly election during its eighth meeting inHanoi on July 12.

Chairing the event, National Assembly Chairman Vuong DinhHue, who is also NEC Chairman, asked the NEC, its sub-committees and office topromptly complete a report reviewing the outcomes of the 15th NAelection and relevant documents, in preparation for a nationwide review teleconferencescheduled for July 15 and the first session of the 15th legislature.

About the nationwide teleconference on the electionoutcomes, Hue assigned the NEC Office to work with sub-committees to transfer election-relateddocuments to the 15th-tenure NA Standing Committee, including dossiersof NA deputies and documents on the settlement of complaints and denunciations.

On the occasion, he also thanked NEC members and relevantagencies for their efforts over the past two months.

He lauded voters and people at home and abroad for joiningthe election responsibly, reflecting their patriotism and the spirit of greatnational unity.

According to him, People’s Councils at all levels have heldtheir first sessions, completing the elections of key leaders of localadministrations. The NA Chairman has also approved the outcomes of the electionof Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of centrally-run municipal and provincialPeople’s Councils./.
