New decree on foreign vehicles in Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on November 4 promulgated a decree which stipulates the management of foreign-registered vehicles brought into Vietnam for travel purposes.

Under Decree No.152/2013/ND-CP, left-hand steering wheel and less-than-9-seaterpassenger cars and motorbikes that are registered in foreign countriesand used with foreign registration plates will be licensed to travel inVietnam for no later than 30 days after obtaining approval of theTransport Ministry.

Foreign drivers, who own passports oridentity documents valid for at least six months since the departuredate, must have entry visa (except visa-waiver cases) and qualifieddriving license.

The decree will take effect from December 25.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
